“You” or “your” refers to the individual who uses this website, features, and services, or accesses available information, or engages with us directly by email or telephone.
1. Data We Collect
We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of Personal Data such as your name, mailing address, phone number, e-mail address, demographic and other personally identifiable information about you as an individual. If you engage us to provide one or more service, it may also include business information that you contribute which concerns business and personal relationships between yourself and other individuals and organizations. You may provide or upload Personal Data in order to enable us to provide you with our services. We may also ask for certain Personal Data when you request information about or order our services, participate in our marketing or promotional activities, or correspond with us.
To make things transparent, we have grouped together the different kinds of Personal Data we collect follows:
Identity Data includes first name, maiden name, last name, username or similar identifier and title.
Contact Data includes billing address, email address and telephone numbers.
Business Data includes details about your business that you provide to us so that we can provide you our services.
Transaction Data includes details about payments to and from you and other details of products and services you have purchased from us including the type of card used for a particular transaction (but not any other card details).
Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform and other technology on the devices you use to access this website.
Usage Data includes information about how you use our website, products and services.
Feedback Data includes any feedback provided to us.
Marketing and Communications Data includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preferences.
Content Data includes any content which you upload or provide via the website or third-party service that contains Personal Data.
We do not collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data). Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.
We also collect, use and share Aggregated Data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated Data may be derived from your Personal Data but is not considered Personal Data in law as this data does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. For example, we may aggregate your Usage Data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific website feature. However, if we combine or connect Aggregated Data with your Personal Data so that it can directly or indirectly identify you, we treat the combined data as Personal Data which will be used in accordance with this privacy notice.
If you engage us to provide one or more service, then you will normally provide us with Confidential Business Documents. We will protect the confidentiality of your documents and only share them with the necessary PitchLift personnel to complete the engagement, unless agreed upon otherwise. Please read our Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) for information regarding how we protect your proprietary information provided to us when you engage us to provide our services.
2. How We Collect Personal Data
You may give us your Identity and Contact data by filling in forms or by corresponding with us by phone, email, online or otherwise. This includes Personal Data you provide when you:
when you visit our website or contact us directly about becoming a client or to obtain other information;
when you become a PitchLift client by making an order or otherwise engaging us to provide one or more service;
when you interact with us on our social media pages;
when you communicate with us; and,
through the PitchLift employment process.
Content uploaded and provided
You may give us Content Data and/or when uploading or providing content via the website or third-party service when you use our services.
We may receive Personal Data about you from various third parties and public sources as set out below:
Technical Data from analytics providers, advertising networks, and search information providers.
Contact and Transaction Data from providers of payment services.
Automated technologies or interactions
As you interact with our website, we may automatically collect Technical Data about your equipment and Usage Data about your browsing actions and patterns. We collect this Personal Data by using cookies and other similar technologies.
3. How We Use Personal Data
We collect, use and disclose different kinds of data collected to provide you with a great overall experience interacting with us. Examples of this include using Personal Data to:
establish your identity;
provide, update, maintain and protect our services and website;
bill any amounts due from you, and manage other administrative matters;
troubleshoot and resolve problems;
improve the usability, performance and effectiveness of our website and business;
provide you with support, news, updates, and reminders related to our services;
enforce our Client Agreement;
protect you and us from error and fraud;
understand your needs and eligibility for products and services;
comply with legal and regulatory requirements;
and as otherwise described to you at the time of collection.
We only collect Personal Data that we consider necessary for achieving these purposes. If you are in a part of our website that requires you to provide your Personal Data, it will be clear what Personal Data we are requesting.
We may send you marketing communications via email about our services, invite you to participate in our events or surveys, or otherwise communicate with you for marketing purposes, provided that we do so in accordance with the consent requirements that are imposed by applicable law.
4. How We Disclose Personal Data
We do not sell or rent Personal Data to marketers or unaffiliated third parties. We share your Personal Data with trusted entities, as outlined below.
We share Personal Data with a limited number of service providers of our own choosing, to facilitate the development, hosting and ongoing support of our services to meet our business goals.
We minimize this sharing of your Personal Data as much as possible and while we take care to use only service providers that we believe are reputable and able to live up to our and your expectations, including about the handling of confidential information, PitchLift is not liable for unlawful or unauthorized use of Personal Data by any of such persons unless such unlawful use was a direct result of our gross negligence or wilful misconduct. These service providers' use of your Personal Data is also governed by their own respective privacy policies.
Some service providers are located in different jurisdictions than either you or us and thus your Personal Data and the protection thereof may become subject to the laws of such jurisdiction in which that third party is located.
We currently use the following service providers:
Order form provided by Typeform.
Credit card processing for purchases from our order form is provided by Stripe.
Credit card processing for online invoices is provided by QuickBooks.
Email list services are provided by Campaign Monitor.
Web analytics is provided by Google Analytics.
Document/file hosting is provided by Dropbox.
Internal communication is made via email (G Suite), Apple iMessage, Skype, and Slack. Customer information may pass through these services as support processes occur.
Our employees, agents, consultants, contractors, suppliers and partners may have access to our customer information or the systems storing it as part of and solely for the purposes of performing their jobs, or within the scope of their agreements with us. In all cases, we use reasonable efforts to ensure that your Personal Data, as part of our confidential business information, is protected under contracts with such persons.
We may disclose your Personal Data to professional advisors including lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers who provide consultancy, banking, legal, insurance and accounting services to us.
In the event that we enter into, or intend to enter into, a transaction that alters the structure of our business, such as a reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer, change of control, or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets or stock, we may share Personal Data with third parties for the purpose of facilitating and completing the transaction.
We will also disclose your Personal Data if we believe in good faith that we are required to do so in order to comply with an applicable statute, regulation, rule or law, a subpoena, a search warrant, a court or regulatory order, or other valid legal process. We also may be required to disclose your Personal Data in response to a lawful request by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

Reviewing your Personal Data
If you would like to review, correct, or update Personal Data that you have previously disclosed to us, you may do so by contacting us.
Opting-out of communications
If you no longer want to receive marketing-related emails from us, you may opt-out via the unsubscribe link included in such emails or by changing your notification settings on our email service provider's website. Please note that even if you unsubscribe or opt-out of receiving marketing-related emails from us, we may still send you important service related communications (e.g., if your credit card payment was declined).
Depending on your location and subject to applicable law, you may have the following rights with regard to the Personal Data we control about you:
to be provided with a copy of your Personal Data held by us;
to request that we rectify or update your Personal Data that is inaccurate, incomplete or outdated;
to request that erase your Personal Data in certain circumstances provided by law;
to request that we restrict the processing of your Personal Data (while we verify or investigate your concerns with this information, for example);
to object to the further processing of your Personal Data, including the right to object to marketing; and,
to request that your provided Personal Data be moved to a third party.
Where the processing of your Personal Data is based on your previously given consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You may also have the right to object to the processing of your Personal Data on grounds relating to your particular situation.

You should be aware that it is not technologically possible to remove each and every record of the information you have provided to us from our system. The need to back up our systems to protect information from inadvertent loss means that a copy of your information may exist in a non-erasable form that will be difficult or impossible for us to locate. Promptly after receiving your request, all Personal Data stored in databases we actively use, and other readily searchable media will be updated, corrected, changed or deleted, as appropriate, as soon as and to the extent reasonably and technically practicable.
Do Not Track
The term "Do Not Track" refers to a HTTP header offered by certain web browsers to request that websites refrain from tracking the user. We take no action in response to Do Not Track requests.
6. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable efforts to ensure that Personal Data is secure and to prevent it being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. Unfortunately, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, and we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you provide to us. Whilst we cannot ensure or guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration of information will never occur, we will take steps to prevent it.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (“EEA”) or Switzerland, we comply with applicable laws to provide an adequate level of data protection for the transfer of your Personal Data to the US.
9. Children's privacy
Our services are not directed to children and children are not eligible to use them. Protecting the privacy of children is very important to us. We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use Personal Data from children under eighteen (18) years of age. If you learn that your child has provided us with Personal Data without your consent, you may alert us at firstname.lastname@example.org. If we learn that we have collected any Personal Data from children under 18, we will promptly take steps to delete such information and terminate the child’s account.

The PitchLift website or our services may provide you with access to other websites and services. These other websites and services operate independently from us and may have their own privacy notices or policies, which we strongly suggest you review. We do not endorse, screen or approve, and are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such other websites or applications. Visiting these other websites or applications is at your own risk and subject to their own privacy policies.
If you otherwise interact with our social media accounts or pages, we will collect information from your own profiles, based on your privacy settings with such social media platform. Please review your privacy settings with these social media platforms to understand what would be shared and update if you would like to.
